I placed my notebooks down at random during the first edition of this festival, referred to as small.
What a lie!
There was absolutely nothing small about this festival.
Great big walls facing Great Artists, a Great number of visitors, questions, reactions, and most of all Great organisers with a… Gigantic heart.
The heart of those which make small towns move, the small lines of our country and of its culture; those which liven up small neighbourhoods and awaken large town halls; those who give ambition to small eyes wide open and a big kick to rigidities which are too absurd for words.
”
I didn’t know where the 55th French department was on a map and even less what the inhabitants of Bar-Le-Duc were called, but by going to meet them and Code Couleur Jam, I filled my notebooks with words, with meaning, with colours and values.
All priceless.
The organisers and artists fight every year to create and sustain their young and old - but also their means, their alternatives, their soon famous or one day ex- festivals.
Express. Meet. Act.
Say it with their words.
Write the town, Citizens!
